Lap Band Weight Loss, how much weight should you expect to lose after surgery?
How much weight should you lose after Lap Band Weight Loss Surgery..... Hmmmmmmm
Honestly, that all depends on you, your goals, your motivation, age, and yes even your gender!
Remember, this tool restricts the amount of food you can eat, it does not limit the amount that is absorbed in your system like the Gastric Bypass does.
Just like dieting without surgery, EVERYONE is different.
Typically, losing 5-8 lbs. per months is ideal and that is what you should shoot for.
Will that be the case every single month? NO
Physicians will advise you that anything over 10 pounds per month is really losing weight too fast. Anything under 4-5 pounds per month, is too slow!
When you get to the point where you are only losing 2-3 pounds per month, and you have had a fill or adjustment to the band, start re-evaluating what you are doing....
Are you drinking your water?....(by not drinking enough water your body is not able to function correctly, and yes that includes your metabolism)
Are you eating late at night?....(by eating late at night and then sleeping your body does not have time to burn off those calories, and yes, even small amounts of calories can effect your weight loss progress)
Are you drinking your calories?.....(sometimes we do not realize just how many calories are in those Star Bucks Grande Mocha Frapachino's! Stay AWAY from high caloric drinks!)
Are you exercising?......(30 minutes a day please! Walking, jogging, yard work, something to get your heart rate up!) Remember why you had the surgery, improving your overall health, RIGHT!
If all else fails,, go back to the basics, water water water,, protein protein protein. Stay away from processed foods as much as possible.
